How To Create a New Encounter Follow
You can make a patient in a final status (Completed, Screen Failed, or Deleted) active again, so they can begin a new health monitoring encounter. Some of the information from the previous record is shared with the new record, but not all information will be available. The secondary providers, parameters, and patient demographics (DOB, address, and special handling) are populated from the previous patient's record. Other information, such as chart, medications, and forms are not available.
When using the New Visit feature, secondary provider data is pulled forward to the new patient record and refreshed based on what exists in the provider registry.
- On the Patient list, find the patient in a final status for which you want to create a new encounter.
- In the menu, click New Visit.
The Patient Profile page appears with the patient's demographic information and Encounter ID. The patient's chart information will remain with the previous record. The patient's status changes to default the status for new patients, such as Screening (Day 0).
- Add additional profile information for the patient and assign a service level.
