The Kit uses Bluetooth, a short-range wireless technology, to connect the different devices to the tablet. This works the same way a cell phone would connect to a wireless headset or a car. Bluetooth is not a bullet-proof-technology. Occasionally, the devices may not transmit a reading to the tablet. This is normal and does not necessarily indicate a technology issue or a defective device.
The Care Team portal will generate an alert if too many manual readings have been reported by a patient. You can see this alert by hovering over a reading on the Patient Monitoring page.
You can review the trend for reporting Bluetooth or Manual Entry readings from the Patient Audit > Reading History tab.
If a patient consistently records their readings manually over several days, the patient may need assistance. Call the patient to offer help.
- Verify the patient has the devices within 20 to 30 feet of the tablet.
- Ask the patient to take an ad hoc reading. Verify the patient is using the device correctly and is not pressing the Manual Entry button too soon after taking a successful reading.
- Help the patient restart Bluetooth on the tablet.
- Ask the patient to try taking the reading again.
If the previous steps do not resolve the issue, contact Vivify Support. Let them know you’ve spoken to the patient and what you’ve already tried.
