When the patient puts the cuff on, it feels too tight or too loose. How do they know they have the correct size cuff?
Each blood pressure cuff has a size indicator that allows you to measure the correct size for your arm. The cuff should fit around your upper arm. Refer to the steps for how to take your blood pressure.
Small Cuff: 6.3 - 9.4" (16-24cm)
Medium Cuff: 9.4 - 14.2" (24-36cm)
Wide Range Cuff: 8.6 - 16.5" (22-42cm)
- Look for the colored line that runs along the edge of the cuff. You will see the size indicator abbreviations of (S, M, L). The longest section of the line that is colored in white is the size of your specific cuff.
